Leave a Donation in Your Will

Grow trees, livelihoods and futures by leaving a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will is an incredible way for you to have a lasting impact. Gifts in wills enable us to continue planning ahead. With your support, trees can provide communities with nutritious food, stronger incomes, and the ability to protect the land for generations to come.

The project has shown us how to produce seedlings, grow trees and protect all of the forest. It is very important for our children to protect the forest, We have to protect the forest to keep the food security for our children and future generations.

How a Tree Aid project is changing Alimata's life

I live here with my husband, and my father and mother-in-law. I have five children – two daughters and three sons.

My role is taking care of the family, preparing food to sell at the school. I make tô [a traditional dish consisting of cooked millet, corn, or sorghum] to sell to the school. I buy the ingredients from the market.

After farming, I sell groundnuts and maize to get money and begin preparing food to sell. My husband has a shop, he is also a member of the local security, and he sells sand.

I spend a small amount of money, but in the end I still need more. The reality is as a woman you need many things to take care of the children, and when they are going to school you need to give them something [to eat]. I wake up, I go to the shop and take care of the family.

The project has shown us how to produce seedlings, grow trees and protect the forest. We have to protect the forest to keep food security for our children and future generations.

Planting and protecting trees can help our children for tomorrow. There are some trees we can use for our health and for food. Trees are energy for cooking, for the community’s health and food for all the community.

I wish the project will continue bringing benefits to all the community.

Tree Aid’s projects create lasting change for families like Alimata’s. A gift in your will can support communities to grow trees, restore land, and build sustainable livelihoods.

  • Your privacy is important to us. We always ensure that great care is taken to respect your privacy and appreciate that your will is personal to you.
